This article is not intended to resolve anyone’s search for an ideal method that will work in all the contexts of translation or interpreting. Instead, our purpose is to explain the benefit of using the new methods that we were trying out in our classes and the progress our students made. We began to wonder if the claims made about the effectiveness of the new methods could withstand major scrutiny. However, translators and interpretors all over the world have been engaged in similar debates in staff rooms and in private soul searching at the end of a day of translating. We believe that most of us feel responsible for the effectiveness of our activity. We are motivated to look for the best language interpreting method that will provide our students with the language skills they need, especially in the legal domain.

Articolul nostru are ca scop prezentarea dificultăţilor întâmpinate de studenţi la folosirea tehnologiilor translaționale în noul mileniu. Iată de ce este important să expunem succint unele idei privind teoria traducerii care ar explica de ce activităţile interpretative ce apelează la astfel de mijloace ca cele netradiţionale, de comuncare, sunt incluse iniţial ca bază a conceptelor ce ţin de aceasta. Vom evidenţia modul în care conceptele menţionate mai sus pot fi conectate la proiectul specificului lingvistic activ şi efectiv. Se va demonstra, de asemenea, gradul de intensitate a folosirii tehnologiilor translaționale în situaţii de traducere, neajunsurile inerente utilizării acestora în situaţiile interpretative şi, nu în ultimul rând, sfaturile practice pentru traducători și interpreți, care doresc să aplice tehnologiile translaționale în domeniul legal.
