Rezumat

Child protection is a mandatory condition for social protection, it is a subject of theoretical and practical analysis that is opportune for decision-makers and the legislative system. The relevance of addressing the current legal framework and monitoring the practical impact of the effects it generates, leads to conclusions on improving and improving the institutions and mechanisms that support their coherent operation. Child protection is one of the priority areas for the Republic of Moldova. At the same time, it is the field that requires many investments, whether it is about qualified human resources or financial resources. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the legal framework implemented following the reform that focuses on child protection. The article is based on national and international statistical data, available to document the current welfare and health situation of children in our country. Based on the results of the Child Protection Index, which emphasizes the level of perfection of the child protection system, it shows that Moldova has 0.52 of the possible ones, which shows a large gap between policies and implementation.
