Rezumat

This article gives the characteristic of storage potential (SP) of maize collection accessions. It is worth to determine it before placing seed material for long-term storage in plant gene bank (ex situ conservation). To study SP, the accelerated aging test (AA-test) of seeds was used, which is widely applied in International seed testing practice. Morphophysiological and biochemical parameters of seeds and seedlings were measured and with their help storage potential of seeds was determined. Ranking of genotypes of maize was performed taking into account their potential capability of maintaining viability after the influence of stress conditions: increased temperature (4244оC) and humidity (90-100%) after accelerated aging test of seeds. Storage potential of seeds allows estimation of necessary terms of reproduction of specifically valuable collection accessions.
