Rezumat

In full accordance with the specialized literature and current legislation, the forensic psychologist expert can be defined as a person who, having the necessary professional qualifications, is authorized to conduct expertise and formulate conclusions, especially in the specialty for which they are authorized, regarding certain facts, circumstances, phenomena, and/or processes that can be approached from the perspective of the human psyche. The document confirming the status of a forensic psychologist expert is the license, which is issued based on the decision of the Qualification and Evaluation Commission regarding the results of the qualification examination. Like in the case of other categories of judicial experts, the forensic psychologist expert confirms their professional identity through the ID issued by the public institution for judicial expertise, and in the case of judicial experts who work within a judicial expertise office, through the ID issued by the Ministry of Justice. The day-to-day activities of the forensic psychologist expert, meeting the characteristics of an extremely complex type of professional intervention, are supported by a multitude of rights, and at the same time, subject to a wide range of obligations and prohibitions. In addition, the forensic psychologist expert, like any other representative of the guild of judicial experts, must regularly and responsibly adhere to three legal regimes of major importance – those of incompatibilities, integrity obligations, and conflicts of interest.
