Rezumat | |||||||
Modern languages have always been important sources of neologization of the Romanian language (especially French and English). We refer, particularly, to terms formed from a single root or by the juxtaposition of Greek-Latin roots. They have a translinguistic status and are of international use. Despite the fact that the Romanian language dictionaries attest to numerous English words and terms, the borrowing language of the words formed with Latin elements is French. Thus, we are witnessing an overwhelming avalanche of neological terms and borrowings from French, in all fields of activity. This article focuses on the aspects of neologization of the vocabulary of the current Romanian language and the process of metaphorization that is ubiquitous in the denomination of specialized "things" and is a component of the process of neologization of the Romanian language. |
