The article represents a reference point in the knowledge and deepening of the concept of emotional self- regulation. Emotions are a topic of interest in literature, as they have a self-regulatory function in relation to the environment. There is a conceptual and practical difference between emotions and emotional self-regulation even though they are interrelated. Emotional self-regulation is based on emotions and affective states. In this process of scientific knowledge the aim is to understand emotional self-regulation as a concept by tracing its historical development, distinguishing between emotional self-regulation and emotions, the components of emotional self-regulation and understanding the disjunction between coping methods, emotions and emotional self-regulation by highlighting the main theoretical directions of work recognised in the literature. At the same time, the role of emotional self-regulation in personal development management is unquestionable. |
