Rezumat

The Latin language is practically removed from the educational system in the Republic of Moldova. This discipline, previously excluded at pre-university level, is now more and more absent in the university programs that are to train philologists, historians, biologists, etc. Latin, although generally recognized as an important element of European cultural and scientific life, is now found only with small insertions in other socio-humanistic disciplines, where it is mentioned tangentially in compartments such as the origin of Romanian and Romance languages, terminological languages, word formation, etc. In such a context, the organization of the independent activity of the trainees is particularly important, as it allows to compensate the small number of hours provided in the university program and to close some gaps in the humanistic training of the students. In our article we aim to describe some aspects related to the organization of independent activities related to the acquisition of particular aspects of the Latin language. The planned academic activities will serve the development of communication skills in Romanian, in foreign languages, but, especially, in cultural awareness. In particular, we will draw attention to the competence „learning to learn”.
