In this paper was carried out the historiographical analysis for identification of the Aurignacian culture on the Middle Dniester and on adjacent territories. Also, was analyzed the archaeological material of the upper palaeolithical site Climăuti II on the Middle Dniester in the context of the Aurignacian culture. As a rezult, the industry of Climauti II occupies the intermediate place between the early Aurignacian and the epi-Aurignacian complexes, but it is attached to the latter, that it is expressed both typologically and by radiocarbon dating. |
