The following article represents a review of the national legislation of the Republic of Moldova in the field of fighting and prevention of terrorist financing. Terrorism does not represent an immediate threat to Moldova’s national security, but as a responsible member of the international community, it is an obligation to participate in the war against terrorism. The national legislation in the field of fighting and prevention of terrorist financing is based on the international conventions and on accepted standards and procedures, which ensures a high quality legislative base. As of 2001, when the implementation of legal mechanisms has begun, the normative base of terrorist financing prevention is in a continuous modification, with the purpose of rapidly responding to fast changing methods used by terrorist groups.
