Optimisation of the nitroprussidic procedure for the assessment of reduced glutathione in biological material
Glutathione is one of the main antioxidants in the body. Its determination presents
significant scientific and clinical benefits. The study presents a number of changes to the classical method (E. Mortensen, 1964) of reduced glutathione assessment, which significantly optimizes the process. The proposed amendments (the stabilization labile SH groups of glutathione, the substitution of the meta-phosphoric acid with sulfosalicilic one and sodium cyanide with acetoncianhidrine) allow to increase the stability and harmlessness of the reagents, to increase the precision and decrease the variability of the method. |
