The present article provides a theoretical overview on the main characteristics and the relationship between the concepts of „linguistic picture of the world” and „phraseology”. The relevance of the study of the field of phraseology is due to the fact that in modern language there is a continuous replenishment of the phraseological fund, which embodies and perpetuates the spirit of ethnic community. Besides, the existing phraseological units undergo desemantisation, getting new everyday meanings and forms for native speakers. Due to its specificity, phraseology has always been the object of numerous multidimensional studies.
