Rezumat

Fodder conservation is necessary in most parts of Europe to maintain feed supply during winter. The cv. Rada of curly mallow Malva crispa obtained by Prof. Rakhmetov D.B in “N.N. Grishko” National Botanical Garden NAS Ukraine, which was cultivated in the experimental plot of the National Botanical Garden (Institute) of Moldova served as subject of the research. It has been found that the prepared silage was characterized by pleasant smell and homogeneous olive color, 229 g/kg DM, pH index 4.44, 1.15% acetic acid and 3.55% lactic acid, butyric acid was not detected. The silage dry matter contained: 139.8 g/kg CP, 336.8 g/kg CF, 49.2 g/kg EE, 351.1 g/kg NFE, 123.2g/kg ash. The nutritive energy values of silage fodder: 18.21 MJ/kg GE, 8.92 MJ/kg ME and 4.89 MJ/kg NEl. The silage prepared from the studied cultivar ‘Rada’ can be used as substrate in biogas production via anaerobic digestion for renewable energy production, with biochemical methane potential 247 liter/kg organic matter. The cultivar ‘Rada’ of curly mallow Malva crispa can be used for preparing silage as fodder for farm animals or as substrate in biogas generators for the production of renewable energy. Financial support for research was offered by the National Agency for Research and Development, projects no. 20.80009.5107.02 and no. 20.80009.5107.12
