Rezumat

The process of scientific research includes three components: theoretical, practical and applied. Phonetic studies using subjective (non-experimental, non-instrumental) and objective (experimental, instrumental) methods help to solve a number of issues in the field of linguistics and language teaching. In contrast to non-linguistic disciplines, phonetics examines the phenomenon of sounds as elements of the language system, serving for transforming words and sentences in the form of audio material, without which communication is not possible. In linguistics, the value of phonetic research lies in the fact that the study of speech sounds allows to determine their phonetic nature more clearly, which in turn leads to a clearer determination of the phonological status of the phonemes corresponding to them, as well as to identify the principles and regularities of phonetic conditioning of lexical and grammatical structure of the language. In language teaching, phonetic studies contribute to helping students in assimilating the learning material and language teachers in their teaching activities and in this regard to enrichment of professional development programs for teaching staff.
