Rezumat

Low efficiency of plant protection means was explained by the lack of a centralized forecasting system for the terms to carry out protective measures, lack of modern methods for obtaining primary data for making up reliable short-term forecasts for the development and spread of insect pests in agricultural agrocenoses. During the recent years investigations covering the elaboration of new systems for integrated plant protection became more active due to utilizing biorational means of plant protection as well as electric and optic devices. A great attention was paid to elaboration and selection of sources such as attractants and new electric and optic devices which demonstrated high attractiveness due to a specific irradiation spectrum and, thus, provided a maximum trapping of harmful insects. Application of the light traps was a more perfect method for phenological investigations and important in some economic aspects of plant pests control which allowed insects gathering as well as developing short-term forecasts for insect pests development and carrying out protective measures. Hence, the light traps for catching insect pests could be used as independent means for plant pests control. In combination with other control methods the use of light traps significantly reduced the number of flying pests.
