Rezumat

Introduction. Anastomotic leakage remains a major clinical problem of modern colorectal surgery, with major economic impact. Incidence of this complication varies from 3.3% to 25.1%. Its appearance is associated with considerable increasing of postoperative morbidity and mortality and reflects the quality of surgical service. Mortality due to this complication varies 25–50%. Aim of study was to apreciate efficiency of combined method (latex tissue adhesive and collagen patch) for local protection of colonic anastomosis. Materials and methods. Forty six rats were divided in two groups: group I - unprotected colonic anastomosis (n=21), group II – anastomosis were performed and local latex tissue adhesive and collagen patch were applied (n=21). Results. The average bursting pressure on the 7th POD was higher in the group I vs group II: 32.00±0.382 kPa vs 30.75±0.224 kPa, respectively (NS). Morphologically, there are retention of regenerativ-reparative process and persistence of the exudative-inflammatory and detersive processes, which can contribute of anastomotic leakage appearance. Conclusion. Using of combined method does not increase the bursting pressure of colonic anastomosis, does not improve anastomotic healing. Thus, this method does not have any positive effects on the postoperative results.
