Medical terms formed on the base of Greek-Latin scholar elements are naming medical knowledge, are included in specialized communication and have a particular linguistic behavior, subscribing to neomorphemic system. In the neologizing process of the medical language, terminological elements impose themselves as following: are taken and actualized from the international general lexicon; the terms formed on the base of these elements are created to the solicitation of specialized communication. This process presumes linguistic planning which assures the continuity of medical language, mediatized direct communication and at an international level – the standardization of terminology; covers the specialized language requests; communication aspects, updating aspects, access to the information. There were highlighted the following classification criteria of scholar elements: positional criterion; interdisciplinary criterion (variability criterion), semantical and etymological criteria, etc. At a linguistic level scholar elements are reducing the confusion of information, assuring a high precision of the notion, and designating a delimitated and stable concept. |
