Each period in the history of foreign language teaching had certain trends that influenced both teaching and learning. Although it appeared more than thirty years ago, one of the latest revaluated trends in approaches implemented into foreign language education nowadays is task-based language learning (TBL). Task-based language learning is a variant form of communicative approach that focuses on the authentic language use while performing specific real-life tasks. One of the important topics included as a content unit in the national foreign language curriculum for secondary school from 5th to 9th grade is “My family”, that is why it was necessary to elaborate a sample lesson on it. |
