It is important that the school provides students with the opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills acquired in the classroom in everyday contexts. This is a sound method to develop skills in students. The article highlights the characteristics and stages of service learning, as well as its typology. The role of the teacher in carrying out service learning is also described. The article contains some examples of service learning activities that can be applied in the classroom.</p></description>
