Rezumat | ||||||
The aim of this theoretical article is to explore how foreign language teaching in Moldova has changed over the last three decades and how mother tongue influences foreign language acquisition. We attempt to show that native language can enhance the development of communicative competences through language transfer. It also analyzes some variables that affect linguistic transfer and points the idea that that latter could be viewed as a catalyst to developing foreign language skills, contrary to the widely spread view that language transfer is mainly an impediment to it. |
