Almost 25 years ago, under the direct supervision of university professor Ioan Donisă (University ”A. I. Cuza” from Iași, Romania, and academician Tatiana Constantinov (Institute of Geography, AȘM, Republic of Moldova) a new methodology in geographical research from Romania and R. Moldova had been initialized, Geographic Information System, after 55 years from the creation of this domain of geography (Tomlinson, 2012; DiBiasi, 2012). This methodology utilizes environmental components’ analysis by means of computer, that facilitates the visualization of some complex referential spatial information along with its real geographical coordinates and creates possibilities of a rapid execution of some analysis and correlations of a great complexity, which is impossible to make efficiently by means of classic techniques. Researches results included in this work represent realization of the dream of the initiators in our countries of Geographical Information System, to elaborate a common atlas estimating and spatializing of some environmental components within Prut River’s basin. Elaboration of digital model for this area and creation of an informational database that characterizes thermal and precipitations main characteristics allowed obtaining digital maps of the Digital Atlas Air temperature and atmospheric precipitations’ quantities from the Prut River’s basin (Romania - R. Moldova). Taking into account the significance level of every geographic factor that contributes to distribution in space of climatic elements in study, of the elaborated model, of insignificant differences between interpolated values and those registered on meteorological stations within Prut River’s basin, efficiently validates the obtained results. |
