Rezumat

The study was the effect of empowerment, compensation, and work motivation toward job performance of the village headman in Regency Area of Sukoharjo, Indonesia. The population in this research were 153 villages. Research sample were selected as much as 60 villages using proportional random sampling technique. The data obtained with questionnaires and analyzed using path analysis techniques. The research found that 1) Empowerment has positive direct effect toward job performance; 2) Compensation has positive direct effect toward job performance; 3) Work motivation has positive direct effect toward job performance; 4) Empowerment has positive direct effect toward work motivation; 5) Compensation has positive direct effect toward work motivation.
