When we talk about digital literacy we think of a series of skills related to the creation and publication of digital content in the virtual environment, information management in personal contexts, communication and entertainment and learning or professional contexts. If we were to give a definition of digital literacy, it would aim at “the ability to understand and express, using analytically, productively and creatively new information technologies and software, to transform information into knowledge” (Torres-Coronas & Vidal Blasco, 2011, p.62). Digitization is a process that involves the transformation of all types of information (images, sounds, texts, videos, etc.) into digital language. Digitization is the key word that describes the 21st century in the most accurate way possible. In recent decades, the technological explosion has produced major changes, significant changes in everyday life, thus influencing the social and professional aspects of individuals. |
