The study will focus on approaching education from the perspective of focusing on the learner which involves the development of personality, capitalizing on the potential of each learner and, at the same time, the need for learners to assume a high degree of responsibility in the context of learning, to actively choose their goals and manage their learning. The learner-centered approach involves the resizing by curriculum designers and teachers of traditional interpretations of the learning process as a way of transmitting information and training skills, towards training the student's educational and cognitive needs, competencies, ability to self-direct and self-control. Any learning process, regardless of its nature, is carried out based on a system of principles, which represent legalities, norms and rules, which have the role of guiding and regulating educational activity, the nature of the teacher-student relationship and the specifics of teacher and student activity. Learner-centered education does not provide for the replacement or elimination of traditional forms of learning, this is not an alternative, but a complement to them. Student-centered education, in the coming years, will expand more and more within the educational system, this being objectively conditioned by the needs of modern society. But how this trend will develop depends on the concrete people who will achieve this goal in practice. |
