The impact of climatic maximum from Holocene of the communities occupation pattern from Nistru-Prut interfluve. Palynological materials, supported by the quantitative paleoclimate indexes, show that climate conditions from Holocene were spatially and temporally variable being characterised by the succession of several cooling and warming phases, including thermal maximum. In the Nistru-Prut interfluve, thermal maximum, with a moderate climate aridization in Holocene, was identified in the late phase of Atlantic period (AT-3); in the middle phase of Subboreal period (SB-2); in the Subatlantic period (SA) about 1900-2000 years ago, as well in the “little climatic optimum” whose maximum occurred about 1000 years ago, the evidence being noticed in the climate research from historical times. Climate changes from the mentioned phases resulted in extension of phytogeographic landscape, mainly steppe landscape (especially in the south part of the study area). The growth of steppe surfaces favored the enlargement of pastures and meadows and it determined a high interest of community members in grazing and livestock breeding. |
