At present a prospective direction in improving crop yields is to use the stimulant of natural origin, application of which is becoming more cost-effective and environmentally appropriate. Their application gives the opportunity to regulate the most important processes in the plant organism, fully realize the potential of varieties and provide friendly shoots. It was established that these compounds have high biological activity, that can be used to solve the problem of seed sowing qualities - combined properties, which are capable to formin specific manner the growth of plants, which eventually causes the crop. The main indicator of the biological quality of seeds is the germination energy, that characterizes the vitality of the plants. The seeds with high germination energy provide simultaneous seedling emergence, uniformity in plant growth and development, which not only increases the yield, but also its commercial quality. It is known, that during storage the seeds germination is lost. For example, carrot seeds can remain emergence up to two years, so the increase of germination after a prolonged storage period is very important for sowing qualities of seeds. The sum of scrophulariosides, which we obtained by alcohol extraction of perennial herbaceous plants woodland figwort (Scrophularia nodosa L.). Concerns to such physiologically active substances of natural origin, with which you can solve the problem of the regulation of plant growth and development. Scrophularia nodosa L. (Scrophulariaceae) is widely distributed in Europe and Asia and is used in folk medicine as an anti-inflammatory, wound healing, urinary and diaphoretic, antihelminthic, dermatologic agent. The aim of our study was to investigate the influence of pre-sowing treatment of carrot seeds after long-term storage by solutions of the sum of scrophulariosides onthe germination energy, germination and sprouts length. As the object of the study served the seeds of highyield varieties of carrot Belladonna after prolonged storage.Solutions of sum of glycosides in concentrations of 0.001%, 0.005%, 0.01% and 0.05% wereused for the experiment. Soaking was performed for 24 hours. The seeds soaked in distilled water were served as the control. In each embodiment 100 seeds were soaked in 4 repetitions. Germination was carried out in Petri dishes on filter paper in an incubator at a temperature of 23-250C, the percentage of seed germination was calculated on the 5th and 10th day.Our results showed that the soaking of carrot seeds with low germination in solutions of the sum of scrophulariosideshas a stimulating effect on the primary metabolism of carrot seeds, greatly increases the germination energy, total germination and seedling length in all cases. Thus, the highest stimulatory effect was observed in the variant where the seeds were treated with 0.001% solution of the sum of glycosides.Indicators of germination energy was 30.5%, which is 15.1% higher than the control group of the data. Presowing soaking of carrot seeds in 0.001% solution of the test scrophulariosides increased the total germination on 23.2% compared with the control. Length of sprouts in this embodiment was 4.8 cm, exceeding on 9.1% the data in the controls option, where the seeds were soaked in water. The increase of this feature is essential for the appearance of amicable shoots of carrot. Thus, the application of the sum of glycosides from perennial plant Scrophularia nodosa L. in a concentration of 0.001% by stimulating the growth process increases the germination energy on 15.1%, the overall germination on 23.2%, and the length of the carrot sprouts on 9.1%, which is an important indicator for amicable and aligned shoots. Pre-sowing seed soaking promotes a more vigorous plant growth and development, favors higher yields and improve quality merchandise. The obtained results allow us to recommend the 0,001% solution of the sum of scrophulariosides for pre-processing of carrot seeds, that are used in the selection process.
