| Rezumat | ||||||
The knowledge of maize germplasm help breeders to choice better initial material for inbred lines development and predict hybrids in useful heterotic patterns. We review the background of Pioneer hybrids and the pedigree of protected inbreds registered in USA. Also it is analaysed the background of the best hybrids cultivated in Moldova. The types of genitors recombination in initial material are discussed and are indicated the best sources of breeding start. It is concluded that germplasm with background from BSSS and Iodent are more important sources for development of seed parent lines, other alternative heterotic groups are useful as male parents in hybrids combinations. |
