Rezumat

The results of scientific research at the Institute of Oil Crops of the Ukraine Academy of Sciences were presented on studying the soybean samples of various eco-geographical origin, a number of forms valuable for developing food varieties with high protein content and low activity of trypsin inhibitors in the seeds. It was shown that one of the directions of soybean selection in the southern zone of the Steppe of the Ukraine was development of soybean varieties suitable for food use with high protein content in soybean seeds and low trypsin inhibitory activity. Brief descriptions were presented of important agronomic characteristics of new soybean varieties for food use (Sribna, Denis), included into the State Register of Plant Varieties suitable for cultivation in the Ukraine.
