Smart farming is an area of the future of IoT (Internet of Things) within Industry 4.0. Climate change affects the policies of exploiting natural resources, becoming a serious problem in the context of agricultural and food production. Continuous monitoring of environmental parameters and automation of agricultural processes can optimize resources and maximize production. The result of this paper is both conceptual design and Smart Farm design, an IoT system specifically designed for intelligent agriculture. In particular, the intended solution is able to detect some of the most important field parameters to feed a decision-making process leading to the automatic and irrigation fertilization subsystem. In addition, to achieve energy autonomy, Smart Farm is powered by a photovoltaic installations. |
