Technological innovations in recent years have caused massive changes in the economy. Information technologies are widely implanted in all economic areas and accounting is not an exception. Nowadays there are many digital trends, but not all can be applied in accounting practice. Information technologies are primarily used in accounting with the purpose to reduce the costs, but also for a more effective communication with customers. The objective of this research is to determine the digital trends with the greatest impact on accounting practice, analyzing the main technological innovations that are implemented in the contemporary economy. Finally, I came to the conclusion that the main trends in accounting are: Data Automation and Digitization, Adaptive Security, Blockchains, Cloud computing, social networking in official communication, Chatbots.
