Rezumat

In the first two decades after the proclamation of the Republic of Moldova’s independence, in the conditions of the shift in the leadership of several political forces that had an indifferent attitude towards the cultural heritage, there wasn’t created an efficient system of protection and valorisation of the historical heritage, including of archaeological sites. Issues related to the safeguarding of this heritage have further exacerbated, which has led to the further destruction of several archaeological sites. With the arrival of the Alliance for European Integration and the appointment of a new team at the Ministry of Culture, several measures have been taken to improve the situation in this area of activity. The main ones were the adoption by the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova of the Law on the Protection of the Archaeological Heritage (2010) and the establishment by the Government of the National Archaeological Agency (2012).
