The aim of this article is to present a detailed analysis of the musical language of White Silence by Ghenadie Ciobanu. It is an attempt to decode some codes of the composer’s sonorous message. Numerous and various associations, allusions and parallels contained in the above mentioned work have been discovered and examined. The author gives her own interpretation of white silence, sound from the semantic, semiotic, mythological, natural-acoustic, psychological, aesthetic, philosophical and literary points of view managing to depict the rich cultural context of Gh. Ciobanu’s work.
