In a world of complexity – language and cultural diversity, creating a linguistic ecological equilibrium and a dynamic balance would be a solution. The enforcement of Political Correctness approach to the management and mo-nitoring of the educational processes, elaboration of curriculum and admission policies in a multicultural medium would be the NORM. Standardization of terminology, norm creation, is an integral part of the overall language planning strategy of any language, an obligatory condition for its survival, development and integration in the world languages mosaic; their cooperation, mutual enrichment, evolution so as to address the increasingly complex and variegated aspects and to meet the needs of different categories of users. The provided examples of standardization requirements and challenges in the domain of E-learning, as a very sophisticated and sensitive form of modern education, as well as the ESP (English for Specific Purposes), that is in need of a very specific, indeed, methodology of teaching the language plus a certain domain of science or technique basics, proves the point. |
