Rezumat

Over 650 million of people around the world live with disabilities. In every region of the world and in every country persons with disabilities most of the times live on margins of society, deprived of some life’s fundamental experiences. This kind of people have a little hope to get a normal education, a decent and payable job, a good financial condition in society and a human treatment with respect of their rights by other „normal” people. The local and international law forbids discrimination when it comes to any aspect of employment, including hiring, firing, pay promotions, training or any other terms and conditions of employment. It is illegal to harass an applicant or employee because he has a disability in the past, or it is believed to have a physical or mental impairment. The Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities is the International Community’s response to the long history of discrimination, exclusion and dehumanization of persons with disabilities. And even if a record number of countries have signed the Convention, the discrimination against this kind of persons exists. In Republic of Moldova, there is a special legislation that protects and points the punishent when it comes to discrimination againts people with disabilities – but often the legislation is not working properly, and there are many factors that cause this phenomenon. So this article, gives the statistics and the information about the condition of persons with disabilities in labour relations and the posible ways to erradicate this discrimination.
