The article focuses on the UN employees’ rights protection as a part of general human rights, which is carried out by a specially created internal system of resolving disputes arising between the staff and the administration of the United Nations; Great attention was paid to informal resolution of disputes – the Office of the Ombudsman and the Mediation Division; analysis of formal dispute resolution system – the UN Dispute Tribunal, the UN Appeals Tribunal, the grounds for filing an application, procedural time limits, the legal force of court decisions. The author underscored the importance of legal aid that staff members are provided at all stages of dispute resolution, specifically by the Office of staff legal assistance. Relevant conclusions were made. |
