SMEs fulfill important functions in a state, they help create a competitive environment and the emergence of new markets, supporting innovative activity, attenuate social inequalities, form the middle class and a new attitude towards work and property. Official statistics emphasize the importance of SMEs and their contribution to the development of the national economy. Even if they possess a high degree of flexibility, unfavourable external environment factors have a negative impact on small and medium business development in the Republic of Moldova</description>
