Rezumat | ||||||
In late 1615, the Polish magnates, Mihail Wiśniowiecki and Samuel Koreck established Alexander Movilă on Moldova’s throne. After the ouster of Stephen Tomşa II, Wiśniowiecki stayed with Alexander in Iaşi. He had about eight thousand people with him, Samuel Korecki had about two thousand people. Alexander’s attempt to colect taxes encounted difficulties. In addition, not all recognized him as
a ruler because he had not received the reigning flag. The Turkish Sultan so did not want to recognize Alexander as a ruler. |
