Intelligence is - Gardner's conception - the ability to solve problems and joys that are exploited to produce more crops or communities. Every normal individual possesses a set of talents, mental skills, developed differently, which appear in combinations to distinguish them. Gardner considers the individual as a "collection of intelligence" that make him get better performance in a particular field of knowledge or activity. The purpose of school - Gardner's conception - is to develop intelligences and to help individuals achieve personal and professional goals that meet their range of intelligence. Mayer and Solovey shows interacting in a positive emotion and thought through the facts that the latter involves: the ability to perceive emotions accurately and how to express them, the ability to generate feelings when they facilitate thought, the ability to know and understand emotions and adjust them to promote emotional and intellectual development. |
