Rezumat

The research assessed the impact of the initial planting density of forest plantations on energy of growth in height of seedlings sessile oak (Quercus petraea). There has been revealed that the seedlings planted in the experimental sites not too close to each other (at distance of 1x1 m) showed high energy growth over 10 years of living. The seedlings planted densely (at distance 0,5 x 0,5 m) grown significantly worse. It can be assumed that the competition for the mineral nutrition from the soil was stronger among densely planted oak seedlings, which ultimately affected the energy of growth of the trees. High level of variability in the seedlings within the range of studied technological options has been caused by the inhomogeneous level of lighting of plants under the forest canopy.
