It is devoted to the consideration of an authentic song as a means of the genesis of pronunciation, grammatical and lexical skills through song and poetic material in an English lesson. The object of the research is the process of improving the lexical skills of senior students. The subject of the thesis is authentic song material in English lessons, aimed at improving lexical skills. In this article is mentioned, how songs and poetry can be effective in aiding students to learn lexical patterns that will be stored in their minds and can be naturally remembered during oral communication. In other words, songs can contribute to the development of automaticity – the ability to use language naturally and without conscious effort. The aim of the study is to provide a theoretical justification and practical development of a set of exercises to improve the lexical skills of senior students based on song material in English. The methodological basis of the practical part was the works of Bolitho et al., Hallam, S., Howle, M. J., Medina, S. L., Martin, M. |
