Rezumat

The pandemic situation brought to the fore the role of the family in the development of reading skills, after decades in which this task largely reverted to the educational system. International bodies have already reported worrying results in terms of reading for some time, so any effort to improve reading skills, implicitly by involving the family, is as necessary as possible. Starting with 2016, the concept of family literacy is introduced, which brings with it a series of effective initiatives in this regard. Our study includes the analysis of specialized literature and recent educational policy documents, which aim at optimizing the given competence.
