Rezumat

Today the perfumery and cosmetic industry is one of the largest branches of the chemical industry. With an increased number of manufactured cosmetic products, the negative impact on the environment has also increased, in the form of an increase in the amount of plastic produced, the release of harmful substances into the atmosphere during production, as well as exhaust gases when transporting products by shipping or land transport, etc. Today, an adult uses about 9 cosmetic products a day, which means that, on average, he is exposed to more than 126 unique chemicals from personal care products, and striving to ensure that most of them are safe and sustainable is no doubt good idea. In recognition of the need to develop products and processes that minimize their environmental impact, cosmetics companies have implemented a wide range of strategies to help make the sector more sustainable. Moldovan cosmetic factory “Viorica-Cosmetic. S.A” is moving in the right direction, but there are certainly many issues that need to be addressed. Moving away from packaging and developing alternative ingredients for cosmetics is a major challenge for the cosmetics industry. How quickly and how well companies will cope with this challenge is still a big question.
