Rezumat

In this article, the authors examine the basic concepts associated with franchising activities, as well as some indicators of its development in the Republic of Moldova. The authors focus on franchising as a method of indirect investment financing for both parties to this type of transaction - the franchisor and the franchisee. The article defines the roles of these participants in accordance with the current legislation of our state. The types of franchising activities are characterized. The advantages and disadvantages of franchising for both parties are revealed. The article provides examples of successful franchising activities at the international level, as well as in the economy of the Republic of Moldova. The authors examine the development of franchising in their country through the prism of domains of economic activity and the most famous Moldovan brands. Some financial indicators inherent in franchising are given - such as the rate for the acquisition of a franchise, the amount of royalties, the amount of the initial investment. The experience of some Moldovan companies in promoting their brands to foreign markets is also provided.
