Present research is dedicated to evaluation of the hydrological regime of the monitored rivers situated in the limits of the North Development Region of the Republic of Moldova. Main approach in order to achieve the goal consists of analysis of time series form the hydrological stations. Considered rivers are Prut, Dniester and their tributaries: Vilia, Draghiste, Ciuhur and Caldarusa from the Prut basin and Raut, Cainari and Cubolta from Dniester basin. Evaluated hydrological regime phases are average flow, pluvial floods, spring floods, minimal flow. Main tendency of the average river flow is its decrease for the whole region, with exception of the northern part of the study area, where the tendency is stable and slowly increasing. The summer floods and especially spring floods tend to decline or even to be absent in many years. Thus, their share from the total annual flow is also decreasing. Minimal flow seems to be with no significant changes from river to river, even there are increasing tendencies for some of small rivers. Main cause of the modifications of the hydrological regime phases is considered to be climate change. Increasing temperature in all seasons causes higher evaporation rate and less water flow. |
