Juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) is a heterogeneous collection of inflammatory arthritides, and it is the most common form of arthritis in children. If left untreated, it can cause long-term disability. To better understand and improve the management of JIA in children, many countries have established national clinical registries that collect data on the disease. These registries aim to provide a comprehensive view of JIA epidemiology, treatment patterns, and outcomes. Data collected in these registries include patient demographics, clinical features of the disease, laboratory results, imaging studies, and treatment history. This information is used to develop evidence-based guidelines for the management of JIA and to identify gaps in current care. By tracking JIA patients over time, national clinical registries can also help monitor the disease's long-term outcomes and identify risk factors for complications such as joint damage and disability. Overall, national clinical registries for JIA provide a valuable tool for improving the care of children with this chronic disease and contribute to ongoing research efforts to better understand JIA's pathogenesis and identify new treatments. |
