This article is based on the presentation and comparison of the translation strategies of the poetic work from Japanese into Romanian and English. There is made an attempt to select poetic texts created by women in order to study their role and possibilities in Japanese society from the point of view of creative expression. The poetic work undeniably succeeds in concentrating individual elements of the culture, periods in the life of the people and the nation, and of course the emotions and worries that the author. Challenges are the specifics of the Japanese language, starting with the order of words in a sentence, three distinct alphabets (Hiragana, Katakana and Kanji), the expressions little known to nonspeakers of Japanese language. All these listed characteristics attribute the translation of Japanese poetic work to a considerably higher level of difficulty. The corpus consists of a series of examples from the poetic work, in the original language, Japanese, created by women. |
