The Taraxacum officinale F. H. Wigg or Dandelion plays an important role in traditional medicine due to its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antitumor activities (1–4). Among different compounds like minerals, fibers, vitamins, essential fatty acids, polyphenols and flavonoids make it as a favorite food source which is used for treatment of different illnesses. Chicoric acid is an organic compound of phenylpropanoid class which protects the cells against free radicals damaging actions. Its effectiveness in case of tumors remains unclear. Glioblastoma represents one of the most dangerous malignant tumours; due to its specific localization and the existence of natural barriers we still have limited possibilities of treatment. |
