Rezumat

The communication aims to present the achievements of the Republic of Moldova for the last 9 years, since it became a full member of the Bologna process. In these years of reforms, it was promoted the desideratum of obtaining a convergence on the provision of a quality, competitive, attractive higher education system, compatible with the European one. Thus, the implementation of a package of interventions at both levels – on one hand at the systemic level and on the other hand at the structural and institutional level – is overviewed. The communication provides a summary of what has been done and what is provisioned to be achieved in the upcoming years, in the strategic planning documents, in terms of: a) developing the national management qualification system; b) reshaping the structure of the higher education system; c) institutionalizing a quality culture in higher education; d) ensuring proximity to the served communities; and e) ensuring synergy of higher education and research. The presentation emphasizes that there are still many problems to be solved, but in order to achieve the expected results there is the need of a greater involvement of the academic community and also of a direct and responsible involvement of the beneficiary communities of the higher education system. Is important to emphasize the fact that the fundamental objectives of the Ministry of Education, on which the national policy documents on education are focused, are in compliance with the EU-RM Association Agreement, which will soon come into force and of whose effects we are all going to benefit in the following years.
