Rezumat

The more serious the mental deficiency, the more the verbal communication loses more and more of its content, it becomes poorer, lacking in coherence and force. Communication skills and abilities presuppose an adequate primary understanding of oral and written speech in accordance with the situation of speech communication, as well as the creation of oral monologic and dialogic discourses on relevant socio-cultural, moral, ethical, everyday and educational topics, in accordance with the objectives and the communication situation. Children with disabilities experience considerable difficulties in understanding and using comparisons, epithets, metaphors. The pace of speech development is delayed due to the child's low activism, reduced interest in what surrounds him and, including, in communication.
