Rezumat | ||||||
Victimology comes from the Latin "victim", which means the one who suffers, and the Greek "logos", which means science. In this sense, victimology is the science that studies the victim, the person who has suffered moral, physical or material consequences of a crime. Rehabilitation of victims of crime, as well as their rights, is achieved by providing support services. The support services aim to provide consultations and support in communicating victims with public authorities, assistance for physical, psychological and social recovery. In order to achieve the above purpose, victims of crime benefit from the following support services: informing victims of crime about their rights and the services they can benefit from; psychological counseling; state-guaranteed legal aid; financial compensation by the state for the damage caused by the crime. |
