Rezumat

Cerebral palsy is one of the most common causes of activity limitation in children. Spasticity in children with CP is a serious problem. The objective of treatment in spasticity are to optimize functional movement and prevent fixed deformity. Treatment methods including oral anti-spasticity medication, locally administered agent such as botulinum toxin or intrathecal administered agent such as baclofen and surgical interventions such as selective dorsal rhizotomy. There is not a standardized approach and the treatment needs to be adapted for the individual child.
